The Atmosphere: Heartfelt and Homey The moment you walk in, you’re greeted by a space that feels personal and lived-in. The walls are adorned with handwritten chalkboards featuring the menu and moving inspirational quotes in Spanish, like "Valora a las personas de noble corazón" (Value people with a noble heart). The owner is exceptionally sweet and clearly pours her heart into the business, making every guest feel like a regular. It’s the kind of warm, community-focused environment that's hard to find in bigger chains. The Menu: A Taste of Southeast Mexico The standout here is the selection of frappes and aguas frescas, prepared with the authentic flair you’d find in the Yucatan or Southeast Mexico. They are refreshing, perfectly blended, and a rare find in this part of Illinois. What to try: Artisanal Crepes: The person I was with ordered a fruit-filled crepe that was truly a work of art, beautifully plated with fresh strawberries, bananas, coconut, and nuts. Waffles & Malteadas: Their menu features a wide variety of shakes (malteadas) ranging from classic vanilla to unique options like Dulce de Leche and Calabaza (pumpkin).
